Day, month, and year of birth

Readings by full birth date: what each chart system reads

By Inti Foundation · updated

A reading by full birth date means reading what one birth date opens in each system: numerology gives your Life Path and personal year, astrology your zodiac sign, the lunar calendar your birth year's stem and branch, Bazi your Day Master — and with a birth time, the whole 12-palace Zi Wei chart. On Inti Soul most of this is free: the numerology, personal year, Bazi and Moon sign tools run right in the browser, with no account; the Zi Wei chart and the full birth chart open with a free account. Below, one sample birth date goes through four systems, computed by the app's own engines, with a way of reading it to understand yourself rather than to be labelled.

Birth date

Enough for your Life Path, personal year, year pillar, Day Master and, in most cases, your zodiac sign.

Birth time and place

Needed for the rising sign, the Bazi hour pillar and the Soul palace in Zi Wei.

Read to understand yourself

Each number and each sign is a question to reflect on, not a sentence.

What one birth date reads in each system

Each system needs a different amount of data. Inti Soul's public tools take a Gregorian birth date and are for people aged 18 and over; where a system needs the lunar calendar, the engine converts the date itself.

  • Numerology: the birth date gives your Life Path, personal year, birth-date chart and four-pinnacle pyramid; add your full name for the name numbers.
  • Astrology: the birth date gives your zodiac sign, except on a few days on the border of two signs; birth time and place give the rising sign and the 12 houses; the Moon sign often needs no time.
  • Bazi: the birth date gives the year, month and day pillars and the Day Master, unless you were born close to midnight or on the day a solar term begins; the birth time gives the hour pillar.
  • Zi Wei: the birth time is needed to place the Soul palace; without it the chart is set for the Horse hour and clearly marked as approximate.
  • The stem and branch of your birth year follow the lunar year, which turns at Tết; Bazi alone turns the year at the Start of Spring.

Example: the birth date 15/05/1990 in four systems

This is the birth date the other Inti Soul pages also use as an example, run through the app's engines. The first four lines need only the birth date; the last two add the birth time 08:30.

  • Numerology: Life Path 3 (5 + 6 + 1 = 12, reduced to 3); personal year 2026 is 3, and 2027 is 22.
  • Astrology: the Sun is in Taurus, so the zodiac sign is Taurus; the Moon stays in Capricorn for the whole birth day in Vietnam time.
  • Lunar calendar: the 21st day of the fourth month of the Canh Ngọ year, the year of the Horse.
  • Bazi: year pillar Canh Ngọ, month Tân Tỵ, day Canh Thìn — Day Master Canh, the Metal element.
  • With the birth time 08:30: the hour pillar is Canh Thìn in Bazi.
  • Zi Wei with the birth time 08:30: the Soul palace is in Sửu with Thiên Cơ, Fire Six class.

Free tools that take your birth date

These tools and tables work right on the page, with no account: calculate your personal year for this year and next, step by step; set up a Bazi chart with the Day Master and strong and missing elements; find your Moon sign and whether the Moon changed sign on your birth day; look up your zodiac sign in the table of the Sun's entry dates into the 12 signs; and see how two people match from two birth dates.

Lunar or Gregorian birth date?

Enter your Gregorian birth date as it appears on your documents. Numerology and astrology work directly on the Gregorian calendar; Zi Wei converts to the lunar date, leap months included; Bazi uses the solar terms. If you only remember the lunar date, convert it before entering it, and take care with days close to Tết or the Start of Spring, when the birth year can differ between the two systems.

Read to understand yourself, not to be labelled

A birth date is symbolic information. A number or a zodiac sign only suggests a theme to observe; when several systems point to the same thing, it deserves more reflection. Keep the questions that help you live more clearly, and do not let a reading decide for you about health, money or a relationship.

The public numerology tool calculates your Life Path from your birth date, plus the name numbers from your full name, with no account. The Zi Wei chart, the birth chart and the full Bazi chart open with a free account.

Frequently asked questions

Should I use my lunar or my Gregorian birth date?

Enter the Gregorian date. The engine converts it to the lunar date for Zi Wei and uses the solar terms for Bazi; numerology and astrology work directly on the Gregorian calendar.

Where can I get a reading by name and birth date?

On the numerology lookup page: enter your full name and birth date for your Life Path and the name numbers, free, with no account.

Can I get a reading without knowing my birth time?

Mostly yes: the Life Path, personal year, year pillar and Day Master need only the birth date. The rising sign needs the birth time; without it, Zi Wei is set for the Horse hour and marked as approximate.

Does a birth date determine fate?

No. Birth dates are symbolic information for reflection, while life depends on choices, environment, and real action.

Should I start with Numerology or Tử Vi?

For beginners, Numerology is accessible because it requires only a birth date. With a birth time, you can also explore Tử Vi, Bazi, or astrology.
