What is astrology? How to read a personal birth chart

By Inti Foundation · updated

Astrology is a symbolic system that interprets relationships between celestial positions and human experience. A personal birth chart represents planets, zodiac signs, houses, and aspects at the time of birth. It is more than the Sun sign commonly called a zodiac sign. A complete chart needs birth date, time, and place to determine the rising sign, house axes, and planetary context. Inti Soul uses birth charts for self-observation and does not present astrology as predictive science or a tool for asserting a fixed future.

Planets

Each planet suggests a psychological function or type of experience.

Signs and houses

Signs describe the quality of energy; houses describe the life areas activated.

Aspects

Relationships among planets reveal flow, tension, and lessons.

How does a birth chart differ from a zodiac sign?

Online zodiac content usually refers only to the Sun sign. A personal birth chart also considers the Moon, rising sign, Mercury, Venus, Mars, outer planets, houses, and aspects. Two people with the same Sun sign can therefore have very different charts.

  • Birth time determines the rising sign and house system, two important layers in personal readings.
  • Birthplace and time zone help calculate house positions and astronomical timing correctly.
  • Aspects must be read within the entire chart, not isolated into absolute conclusions.

What information does a birth chart need?

The three inputs are birth date, birth time, and birthplace. Date positions the planets in time; time helps calculate the rising sign and houses; birthplace and time zone place the sky at the correct coordinates. If birth time is uncertain, record that limitation instead of choosing a random time.

  • Birth date: verify the day, month, year, and calendar system used.
  • Birth time: prefer a birth record or a reliable family source; do not invent a time to complete the form.
  • Birthplace: use a city or location precise enough to determine coordinates and the historical time zone.

A beginner's order for reading a birth chart

Begin with the Sun, Moon, and rising sign; then see which sign and house each planet occupies; finally read aspects and recurring patterns. This order keeps each detail within the whole chart and avoids using one placement to label a personality or predict an event.

How does Inti Soul use astrology?

Inti Soul places Astrology alongside Numerology, Tử Vi, and Bazi so users see both overlaps and differences. Astrological readings prioritize clear language, concrete data, stated limits, and a consistent focus on awareness, choice, and personal responsibility.

Reading birth charts responsibly

Birth charts do not replace professional advice, therapy, medical care, or legal or financial advice. For important decisions, use the chart as one reflective layer alongside real evidence and appropriate support.

Create a personal birth chart

Enter your birth date, time, and place so Inti Soul can calculate your chart, then read it alongside other systems when you want a more integrated portrait.

Frequently asked questions

Can I read a birth chart without knowing my birth time?

Some planetary positions can be read, but the rising sign and houses will be uncertain. The reading must clearly identify missing data.

Is a birth chart predictive science?

No. Inti Soul uses astrology as a symbolic and reflective language, without claiming it is a scientific predictive model.

Can a birth chart say who suits whom?

It can illuminate some interactions, but does not determine relationship quality. Behavior, communication, values, and consent remain more important.

How is astrology different from astronomy?

Astronomy is the science of studying objects and phenomena in space through observation, models, and testing. Astrology is a symbolic and interpretive system; Inti Soul does not equate the two.
