Lunar New Year 2027 (Dinh Mui)
Lunar New Year 2027 (Dinh Mui) travel days and hours: day 1 to day 12 and the auspicious hours
By Inti Foundation · updated
Lunar New Year 2027 travel days and hours: day 1 of the Dinh Mui year is Saturday, 6 February 2027 — a Bính Thìn day, auspicious (Kim Quỹ), with travel listed as favourable and auspicious hours Dần, Thìn, Tỵ, Thân, Dậu and Hợi. Across the first twelve days of the year, Inti Soul's almanac engine finds four days that favour travel — day 1, day 3, day 9 and day 12, of which day 1 and day 9 are auspicious days — while day 10 and day 11 list travel among the things to avoid. The calendar right below gives each day its stem and branch, presiding spirit, favoured and avoided activities, clashing birth year and six auspicious hours. Treat it as a customary reference: drop the days that clash with the traveller's animal, and put safety, the weather and your health before any label on a day.
The first 12 days of the Đinh Mùi year 2027
Computed with Inti Soul's almanac. «Favoured»: the almanac lists the activity as favourable and not among those to avoid; «avoid»: it is listed among those to avoid. Hours follow the Vietnamese two-hour periods; the Tý hour starts at 23:00 the evening before.

Key dates at the start of the Dinh Mui year 2027
A few dates to plan around Tết; all read from the app's almanac:
- Start of Spring (Lập Xuân): Thursday 04/02/2027 — where the Bazi year changes.
- Last day of the Bính Ngọ year: the 29th of the twelfth month, Friday 05/02/2027 — this twelfth month has only 29 days, so Tết 2027 has no 30th day; New Year's Eve is that night.
- Day 1 of Tết: Saturday 06/02/2027, a Bính Thìn day.
- Full moon of the first month (Rằm tháng Giêng): Saturday 20/02/2027, a Canh Ngọ day.
- The Dinh Mui year lasts until the end of 25/01/2028.

Which days to travel at the start of 2027
Inti Soul's almanac engine treats a day as suitable for travel when the almanac lists travel as favourable and not among the things to avoid; when several days qualify, it ranks the auspicious ones first. In the first twelve days of the Dinh Mui year:
- Day 1 (Saturday 06/02/2027) and day 9 (Sunday 14/02/2027): travel favoured, auspicious days — the two ranked first.
- Day 3 (Monday 08/02/2027) and day 12 (Wednesday 17/02/2027): travel favoured, inauspicious days.
- Day 10 (Monday 15/02/2027) and day 11 (Tuesday 16/02/2027): travel is among the things to avoid.
- Days 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 do not mention travel at all; on days 2, 5 and 7 the almanac adds that matters outside its favoured list are best not undertaken.

Good days to open a business at the start of 2027
For openings, the engine looks for four activities in the almanac — opening the market, starting a business, trading, signing — among the favoured ones, and rules out days that list any of them among those to avoid. In the first twelve days of the year:
- Day 3 (Monday 08/02/2027) and day 9 (Sunday 14/02/2027) list opening the market, trading and signing as favoured; day 9 is an auspicious day.
- Day 11 (Tuesday 16/02/2027) lists trading and signing as favoured.
- Days 4, 5, 6 and 8 list opening the market among the things to avoid.
- Days 1, 2, 7, 10 and 12 list none of the four (days 2 and 7 advise against matters outside the favoured list).
How to read the auspicious hours
Each day has twelve two-hour periods, starting with the Tý hour (23h the evening before to 1h). The almanac gives each period one of twelve presiding spirits; the six periods whose spirit belongs to the auspicious group — Thanh Long, Minh Đường, Kim Quỹ, Thiên Đức, Ngọc Đường, Tư Mệnh — are the auspicious hours. The set of hours follows the day's earthly branch, so day 1 (a Thìn day) and day 7 (a Tuất day) share the same six auspicious hours.
- Some almanacs also list travel hours by another method, such as the Lý Thuần Phong hours; Inti Soul does not use that method, so the hours here may differ from the almanac you are reading.
- The app's date engine works by the day; the auspicious hours are an extra layer of reference and are not used to rank days.
By birth year: drop the clashing days
Each day clashes with the animal opposite its earthly branch, most directly with one stem-branch year; drop the days that clash with the traveller's animal or that of the person leading the task. For example:
- Day 1 (a Bính Thìn day) clashes with Dog (Tuất) years, most directly Canh Tuất (1970).
- Day 9 (a Giáp Tý day) clashes with Horse (Ngọ) years, most directly Mậu Ngọ (1978).
- Day 10 (an Ất Sửu day) clashes with Goat (Mùi) years, most directly Kỷ Mùi (1979).
- Birth years follow the lunar calendar: anyone born before Tết belongs to the previous lunar year.

Safety first, the label on the day second
Choosing travel days and hours is a cultural custom and a way of reflecting; it does not guarantee a trip or a business start. Change the hour or the day when there is a weather warning, when you are unwell or the vehicle is not safe; do not put off a necessary trip or health care just because of a label on a day.
