Calculate your personal year in numerology

Calculating your personal year in numerology needs only your birth day and month plus the year in question: reduce the birth month, reduce the birth day, reduce the digit sum of the year, add the three and reduce once more. The tool below does exactly those steps for this year and next, and shows the working so you can check it yourself. A number from 1 to 9 marks where you are in a nine-year cycle; Inti Soul keeps the master numbers 11, 22 and 33 as it does for the other Pythagorean numbers. It is a rhythm for planning and reflection, not a verdict on your year.

Only your birth date is needed — no name, birth time or account; nothing is stored. For adults aged 18+.

Birth day and month

The birth year is not in the sum: people born on the same day and month share a personal year.

The year in question

The year 2026 reduces to 1 and the year 2027 to 11 — which is why the number changes every year.

A nine-year cycle

From year 1, a beginning, to year 9, a closing, before a new round starts.

How to calculate your personal year, step by step

Take someone born on day 15 of month 5 and work out the personal year for 2026. Month 5 stays 5. Day 15 reduces to 1 + 5 = 6. The year 2026 has a digit sum of 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 10, which reduces again to 1. Add the three parts: 5 + 6 + 1 = 12, which reduces to 1 + 2 = 3 — the personal year for 2026 is 3. In 2027 the year's digit sum is 11, a master number that is kept, so 5 + 6 + 11 = 22 — the personal year for 2027 is 22.

  • A two-digit month or day is reduced by adding its digits; if that gives 11 or 22, it is kept.
  • A final total of 11, 22 or 33 is also kept as a master number.
  • The personal year follows the calendar year, from its first day to its last, not your birthday.

Personal year meanings from 1 to 9

Each number is one stage of the nine-year cycle. The keywords below are numerology's common reading — use them as open questions for your year, not as promises or warnings.

  • Year 1 — initiative, leadership. The first year of the nine-year cycle: usually read as a time to plant new projects and make your own decisions.
  • Year 2 — cooperation, patience. A year of slower rhythm and relationships: suited to listening, building cooperation and letting what you planted grow.
  • Year 3 — creativity, communication. A year of expression: often linked with speaking, writing, connecting and creative enjoyment.
  • Year 4 — foundation, discipline. A year of groundwork: suited to steady work and to reorganising finances, routines and habits.
  • Year 5 — change, freedom. A year of movement: often brings change, travel and new experiences; keep a rhythm so you do not scatter.
  • Year 6 — responsibility, love. A year of family and commitment: caring for loved ones, taking on responsibility, tending your home.
  • Year 7 — introspection, depth. An inward year: suited to deep study, rest and review; less suited to chasing volume.
  • Year 8 — power, finances. A year of material results and management: money, work and position — asking for fair dealing.
  • Year 9 — completion, letting go. The year that closes the cycle: finish what is pending, release what is done, make room for the next year 1.

Personal years 11, 22 and 33

When the final total is 11, 22 or 33, Inti Soul keeps the master number instead of reducing further. Year 11 carries the rhythm of year 2 with added intuition and inspiration; year 22 carries the rhythm of year 4 on a larger building scale; year 33 carries the rhythm of year 6, turned toward care and service. If you are used to tables that only run from 1 to 9, read 11 as 2, 22 as 4 and 33 as 6. Each year, roughly one birth date in ten gives a master personal year.

Use the personal year to plan, not to judge

A personal year is most useful when you turn the year's theme into a practical question: in year 1, what do I want to start; in year 7, what do I need to study deeply. Place this year beside next year to prepare, then test it against real events after a few months. If a number worries you, remember it is only a lens — important decisions about money, health or legal matters need facts and qualified people.

Frequently asked questions

Does the personal year start on my birthday or on New Year?

Inti Soul uses the calendar year: the number changes on New Year's Day, not on your birthday. Some schools count from the birthday; if you follow that, read the previous year's number until your birthday.

How is the personal year different from the Life Path number?

The Life Path uses your birth year too and never changes; the personal year uses your birth day and month with the year in question, so it changes every year.

Do I need my birth time or full name?

No. The personal year needs only your birth day and month; the tool asks for the birth year as well to check that users are 18 or older.

Is personal year 9 a bad year?

No. Year 9 is usually read as the year that closes a cycle: finishing, releasing what is done, making room for the next year 1. No number is good or bad in itself.
