Tarot about an ex — see your own heart clearly after a breakup

Tarot about an ex on this page does not answer “do they still love me” or “will they come back” — no card can read another person's heart, and an answer like that only keeps you standing still. The three cards drawn below sit in the positions Past, Present and Future; here, read them as: what the relationship taught you, the feelings you are carrying, and the direction you choose next. Drawing is free with no account, and the seed reopens the exact cards if you want to read them again in a few days.

…

Past

What the relationship taught you — not who was right or wrong.

Present

The feeling you carry right now, called by its real name.

Future

The direction you choose next — not what the other person will do.

Reading three cards about a relationship that has ended

The tool uses Tarot's familiar three-card spread. For a relationship that has ended, place each position within your own reach. The Past card: which part of the relationship still lingers, and which lesson you want to keep. The Present card: the feeling taking up the most space — missing, anger, relief or emptiness. The Future card: a direction you could choose over the next few weeks, as a proposal to weigh rather than a promise. A reversed card is usually read as energy that is blocked or turned inward, not as a bad omen.

Questions to ask and questions to avoid

A good question lets the three cards speak about what you can do. A poor question pushes you into guessing about someone else.

  • Good question: “What do I need to understand about the past relationship to feel lighter?”
  • Good question: “If I still want to get back in touch, what do I need to be clear about first?”
  • Avoid: “Do they still love me?”, “Are they thinking about me?”
  • Avoid redrawing again and again until you get a card you like; read once, then leave it for a few days.

When you want to go back, or to let go

Tarot does not decide for you whether to go back or to stop. What it can do is help you separate events from your interpretation of them: what actually happened, and what is only fear or hope. If you are thinking of getting back in touch, ask yourself whether the reasons for the breakup have changed. If you want to let go, choose one small thing for yourself this week. And when two people are still building together and want to see how well they match, the page on compatibility by birth date will be more useful.

When the sadness after a breakup lasts

Sadness after a breakup is normal. If emptiness, sleeplessness or difficulty working lasts for weeks, talk with a friend you trust or look for qualified support. A spread can help you name your feelings, but it cannot replace the companionship of other people.

Frequently asked questions

Can Tarot tell me whether my ex still loves me?

No. No card can read another person's heart. The spread here helps you see your own feelings and choices clearly.

Do I need an account to draw cards about an ex?

No. The three cards appear right on the page, with no sign-in and no reading stored; the seed lets you reopen the exact cards.

How is this page different from Tarot for love?

It is the same three-card tool. The love page is for questions about a relationship you have or are looking for; this page is for a relationship that has ended, with a reading turned toward you.

How often should I draw cards?

Once for one question, then leave it for a few days. Redrawing again and again is usually a sign of worry, not of inquiry.
